From the grocery store
This capture serves as a reminder to myself never to buy a different kind of mushroom from Safeway and cook them. Bought this small packet of mushrooms just to photograph, but then felt a bit guilty at the thought of wasting them. So, after they'd been sliced and fried, I added them to an omelet. Never again, lol! Their texture was so slimy, I almost gagged on every mouthful I took - and then I just had to give up! So, I will enjoy them simply by admiring the beautiful gills and curves : ) I prefer fungi when they are in their natural setting, anyway. Taken on 7 April 2012.

Haha ... depending on the mushroom (store bought) ... their texture varies so much during the cooking cycle ... and either you have to know your mushrooms or stay with the tradition white button ones ... LOL ... this would gone straight into the garbage at first taste if it became slimy ... looks like there is little thickness to the cap and it is mostly all gills??

Next time look the species up on the web for cooking instructions ... LOL
