The uphill battle of life
This little tropical guy was no more than maybe quarter of an inch long : ) I would never have seen it if a staff member at the Zoo hadn't pointed it out to me in the butterfly room. I think it's the caterpillar of the Sara butterfly.
Looking at this image makes me think about the struggle some people have to face, as they face uphill battles in life, including those that deal with health. Some of us never seem to reach the "top" of that huge mountain, give a huge sigh of relief and rejoice. For some, they struggle, sometimes time after time, and are unable to win the fight. More importantly, though, we can say about them, that they succeeded in all the important, priceless things along their journey, such as family, friendship, love of all things in nature, teaching others to love and respect wildlife, the ability to make us laugh or smile, and so much more.
Thinking of you, Jim (flickr friend Garnite), soaring with the eagles today and you, Linda (his grieving wife). You have so many people thinking of you and sending love and comfort. Stay strong!
Have any of you seen this very cute bit of video? Ducklings blown off their feet by strong winds.
