Curiosity
When I was at the Calgary Zoo a few days ago, this male Snowy Owl and his young one from this spring both suddenly became very alert and kept staring up at the sky in every direction. For a few minutes, I could see nothing up there, but then I noticed what looked like it could be a Bald Eagle flying very, very high overhead. I was amazed that these two owls noticed it! I wonder if they see or hear something first. Being in a Zoo obviously doesn't diminish certain of their basic instincts.
