Deviating from the botanical name, there are regionally different names, but there are also different species of this plant, as you surely know. The species shown here by Annemarie, for example, is opposed to Limonium sinuatum, to name just one example.
This flower is actually very popular as a cut flower, both fresh and dried, as you write.
