Oh! I read the reply you left on my previous comment about Venice and I agree about needing to see the "real" town. But you know, aren't all cities this way? My home town of San Francisco is this way too...sure you can see all of the tourist things, but few have walked to the top of the highest point in the city, which was my backyard! From there, the view is amazing! There are lots of special spots that only the local will know...as for Venice...I would love the opportunity to visit again with a bit more wisdom this time! :)
