Guernsey (Fort Grey)
In my humble opinion no visit to Guernsey is complete without photographing Fort Grey.
So.....here's another shot :-)))

Guernsey Power Station
Been a little side-tracked with computer things in the last few days!! My Desktop computer was ancient like me and I have been thinking for a while I will have to get one of a more recent vintage!!!! I know you shouldn’t feel pressurised by these big organisations but with support being withdrawn for Windows XP I capitulated and have bought a new HP Desktop computer. It took a lot longer to set up that I thought it should!!! I don’t know why they have to put incomprehensible diagrams in the box that just irritate and confuse my little brain!!! Anyway, we are now up and running :-)))
Now to photography -
“Lomo” style photos feature unique colouring, high contrast, soft focus and dark vignettes. You could use a Russian toy camera like the Lomo LC-A to get these results or you can try for a similar effect using photo software. I found a “Lomo” filter in Picasa software so this is my attempt at the “Lomo” effect :-)

Guernsey
Re-visiting shots taken in Guernsey many moons ago.
From the angle of this shot it may not be totally obvious but, you wouldn't want to get too much closer to the edge 'cos it would be a mighty long drop to the sea below!!!

"Across The Great Divide"
From Wikipedia -
“Sark consists of two main parts, Greater Sark and Little Sark to the south. They are connected by a narrow isthmus called La Coupée which is 300 feet (91m) long and has a drop of 330 feet (100m) on each side. Protective railings were erected in 1900; before then, children would crawl across on their hands and knees to avoid being blown over the edge.”
I figure this is like crossing the Great Divide hence a tenuous link to “Across the Great Divide” written by Kate Wolf and performed here by Nanci Griffith. We have been so very fortunate to have seen Nanci 'Live in Concert' several times over the years :-)
