The Dining Hall was designed by Alfred Waterhouse in 1877.
Below is an extract from a College information pamphlet provided to visitors -
"Balliol is not only arguably the oldest but arguably the leading intellectual College in Oxford - and therefore in the World. It has stood on a single site longer than any other college in the English-speaking world."
It cost me the bargain price of just £1 to visit the college grounds and the Dining Hall :-)
Very pleased with how the little 'ole Coolpix performed.....handheld at just 1/20 of a second :-)
