Around and including the tiny town of Maupin. This is the most extensive whitewater rafting area on the Deschutes. One class VI (i.e., unrunnable) rapid, Sherar Falls, has to be portaged around, but otherwise only one rapid (Oak Spring) rates as much as a IV.

Lower Deschutes River, Oregon, USA. This is the most extensive runnable stretch of whitewater on the Deschutes. Third-party photo of our boat; that's yours truly in front on the left (as we're looking at the pic). This was a little Class III IIRC.
