Snake River from Hat Point

From the fire tower, right?

No, actually, from our campsite, but not far from the fire tower! I'd like to get back up there again with the digital camera. This is just below Hat Point, and the stretch of the river down there is just about the turnaround point for the day trips.

I was up there in July 2011 and everything was still green (link below). I tried getting some pictures of the Snake from up there, but they just didn't work out on my point-and-shoot. I find I'm not very good with photos from that grand a scale (you're better at it), but will try again with my newer camera. So far there's not been a place in eastern Oregon that I haven't liked -- the people are friendly, the scenery is wonderful, and its relatively low in terms of number of visitors so quiet. I'll be back up...
