Douglas fir stump
Tree splintered off by the blast from the May, 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens, Washington state, USA. This area is now an overlook accessible to the public, once the winter snowfall has cleared--and if the mountain isn't acting up! My wife is standing on something like 10 feet of ash that's burying the original ground surface.
