Sheepdog Bangs, Bubble in My Eye

Sheepdog Bangs, Bubble in My Eye
Brought forward for the Vinage Photos Theme Park theme of WASHING / LAUNDRY.
Blowing bubbles in the backyard of Lombard Street in New Haven, Connecticut, where I lived from 1964 - 1975.
Must have been "white day" for the laundry, all pegged out to dry.
This is 1967 and I'm thirteen. Picture taken by my friend Holly.

Smiley Derleth, arts enthusiast, Alan Mays have particularly liked this photo

I love that dress! You don't see laundry hanging outside too often anymore.

I loved that dress, too! So late 60s with the small puffed sleeves, Empire waist, and the green paisley fabric!
We did not have a clothes dryer when I was growing up. Coming from '60s England, we felt lucky to have a washing machine. We also lived in a very working class neighborhood, so I imagine that not having a dryer was fairly common in our area.
My mother did the vast majority of the laundry, but I still remember hating the task of hanging up laundry through the window of our back porch in the bitter winter!

Charming photo, Deborah, complete with the bubbles floating away on the breeze.
