Huis Doorn 2023 – Silhouettes
Huis Doorn dates from the late 13th century. It was rebuilt in 1796 to more or less the present condition. In 1919 it was bought by the former Kaiser Wilhelm II who had fled to the Netherlands after the First World War. He built a gatehouse and lived in Huis Doorn until his death in 1941. After the Second World War Huis Doorn was confiscated by the Dutch Government and it has been a museum since the Kaiser’s death.
