Dresden 2019 – Militärhistorisches Museum der Bundeswehr – 1936 Horch 830 BL Convertible
Used by general De Gaulle from 1945 to 1959. The car likely came from the motor pool of general Dietrich von Choltitz, who became governor of occupied Paris in August 1944 and who disobeyed Hitler’s order to destroy Paris. De Gaulle saw that refusal as a cornerstone of Franco-German reconciliation after the war.
