Saturday Self-Challenge: Dutch Angle
I saw one of my cats resting on top of the couch and thought he would make a good subject for this challenge. I had to take about a dozen images before he got into the pose that put the Dutch Angle to good use.
Have a great weekend, everyone! Hugs to Marie-claire and Pam!

Macro Mondays 2.0: Multicloured
My tie dyed t-shirt is the most colorful thing I own, so I thought it would be the perfect subject for this week's challenge.

Saturday Self-Challenge: Anything that has been rendered obsolete but still being used everyday by people everywhere.
In this day of electronic books and texting, many people thought letters and books with pages would be a thing of the past. But modern technology can never replace the personal touch of pen and paper or the tactile feel of a good book in the hands. I still can read love letters written to my mother by my father over 64 years ago and see the writing that flowed from his hand. Texting has no such personal touch.
Have great weekend, everyone! Hugs to Pam and Marie-claire xx

Macro Mondays 2.0: Bottle Neck
I had no problem finding a subject to photograph, but I did have problems finding a backdrop for my composition. Then I got the idea to photograph the bottle neck in front of one of my pictures on the computer screen. Then I had to choose the right photo to work with. I had some interesting outcomes, but this was the best of them. The photo I chose was a sunset scene I had taken in late summer while on vacation. It is the PiP in the note.

Macro Mondays 2.0: Interlocking plastic bricks
One of my favorite builds, the classic VW Bus. This one is very special, because I bought from my grandsons all their discarded LEGOs to exercise my mind and hands. Believe it or not, I discovered that the pieces of their VW Bus was among them! It took me a lot to rebuild this marvelous vehicle, but the reward was very sweet indeed!
Have a wonderful week, everyone!

Saturday Self-Challenge: Tilt Shift Effect
I wish I had more opportunity to take photos that would suit this effect. I went to Tidings Park in Havre de Grace, MD . I brought my camera only to find out that I forgot to put the SD card in it. I thought I had spares in the camera bag, but they, too, were at the house! At least I had my phone camera, so all was not lost. I took a variety of pictures of the bay and boats as well as this docking pier. I didn't realize there was a man walking on it until I finished taking the photo. So I decided to make him the "miniature" subject. I want to experiment some more in the future. Another experiment I did with tilt shift effect is in the note.
Have a great weekend, everyone! Hugs to Pam and Marie-claire!

Saturday Self-Challenge: Portray happiness in black and white. The subject can be anything.
I had a couple of ideas, but decided to use my cat, Flame as the subject as he and his brother are a great source of happiness for me. I took this picture as he was resting in his "Kitty condo" bed.

Macro Mondays 2.0: Spoon Abstract
I have been struggling creatively these last several weeks and not happy with much I have been doing. I wasn't even able to get the right settings to accomplish this image with my Nikon, so instead used my iPhone camera which did a far better job of capturing the image as I wanted it. In the note is another image I took with my Nikon last night for the challenge, but wasn't satisfied with the outcome.
Have a great week everyone!

Saturday Self-Challenge: Bottle(s)
I have many antique and colorful glass bottles. Since it was a wonderful sunny day, I thought I would take advantage of the situation and put the focus on colorful glass bottles and their shadows.

Saturday Self-Challenge: Post-processing
Last Sunday and Monday, I had the pleasure of taking a short trip to Ocean City, Maryland and Assateague/Chincoteage Islands. We came across this herd While we were on the road. The ponies were beautiful, but the mosquitoes were awful! More information about this amazing place: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chincoteague_Pony
I used PicMonkey to process this image: Automatic exposure - Shadows: -20, Rotated 0.76, Used Urbane effect. The unprocessed version of this image is in the note.

Saturday Self-Challenge: Use the edge of an image to "cut" your subject in half" (subject can be anything.)
Autumn is beginning to show itself where I live, so I thought it appropriate to use a pumpkin as my subject.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! A special hug to Pam and Marie-claire!
