I actually prefer the no flash one !

It's funny that you should say that, because I found that I like the no flash one better, too, lol! I did not have much opportunity to practice this technique or to find the right subjects for it this week, so I wasn't as happy with the outcome. That being said, I did learn a whole lot about it, and plan to practice a lot more in the future! :-)

This for me is the negative example of the flash use: IMHO the PIP is excelent with the shadow play, in the main one the flash makes it flat!

I agree with you 100%, Isabel. You have only reaffirmed what I was thinking. Unfortunately I did not have enough time or the right conditions to practice this technique enough. I really learned a lot, though, and am anxious to try it again! :-)

I prefer the no-flash photo. Val. The flash flattens out the image and the shadows and contrast are diminished..

It's been a mighty long time since I tried Fill Flash and this result shows the considerable difference. Inspires me to keep on trying this technique, Val :-)
