Horseshoe

Horseshoe
The iron horseshoe (or hipposandal) were temporary horseshoes which could easily be fastened or removed. They protected the hooves when pulling heavy loads or to prevent slipping. Found in Bishopsgate, London.
AD 90-200.

From the 'Roman Empire - Power and People' exhibition, Segedunum Roman Fort, North East England.
