Thanks. Although I've walked past that church over fifty times in the last 58 years, I've only photographed it once before, in 1980:



Sadly, I see that in the interim it has lost that tree.

I took this:



from the churchyard in 1976. The wooden gate has long been replaced by a metal one from which there's no view at all, because it's encased on all sides by tall shrubbery.

O tempera.

I like the composition, but I'm not so keen on the "dingy effect",
which accentuates the shadows and turns the grass black.

Nice shot, but we've gone from one extreme to the other there.
I actually prefer it with Howard's sky (which may or may not be genuine).

Genuine. Unusually, here there's no Photoshopping or digital artifice whatever.

I did the Bedwyn walk today. A sunny afternoon with fine skies, though photo opportunities were limited.

Not when (as everywhere else today) the best scenes are spoiled by parked vehicles. But thanks to PhotoShop and the dingyfication made possible by RAW, I did get a handful of run-of-the-mill but reasonable shots.

But you yourself have an invisibke car or went to Bedwyn by bike?

Neither. There are these things called TRAINS.

Ah, yes, I've got some at the bottom of my garden.
It's nice that you do use them occasionally in preference to your car.
