WOW! Extraordinarily well seen, William. Only someone with 'the eye' would have noticed this at all. let alone seen the potential for a great image!

Enigmatic as well as violently evocative, your composition with no caption other than a geometric one (purely descriptive) necessarily induces an uncompromising idea of incarceration. Which was both that of the Nazi camps and that, today, of the prisons that illustrate the verdict of a justice that is increasingly qualified as partially at the service of wealth.
Everyone, as the comments above show, finds their own interpretation. It is the role of the writer and illustrator that you are, to provoke reflection and, if possible, to question the established order.
A remarkable work (again) in this sense, as well as from a purely graphic point of view.
Have a good weekend, William!

While I had nothing in mind but the linear patterns and swirls, you could say it is fitting as the USA moves to a post constitutional era where there may not be much room for free expression and free thought, not to mention the evils occurring elsewhere too. In America, everyone on both sides of the political spectrum seems to want things censored and banned that doesn't align with their views. Add the cancel culture and things are even more toxic. :( The utility pole could symbolize that no matter how bleak and dark things may seem to be getting, there is always hope for the light cannot be extinguished and free expression and thought will be around for as long as humanity exists.

What you say about the future of the public space in the United States, William, reflects indeed an evolution that is slowly prevailing in Europe, as the latest Swedish and Italian elections unfortunately show with acuity. Government parties, including in France, are increasingly having to deal with the far-right ideas that they help to promote because, in the end, they serve their interests. This is what I have been denouncing all along... The return to dictatorship is the only way out of the capitalist system which tends to govern the whole planet today and which has compromised the sustainable future of humanity as our contemporaries have understood. But the inconsequence that characterises this era can only promise us an increased control of those who already hold the reins, as opposed to the decision-making of the majority concerned with its own and common interest...

An extraordinary graphic work of art, William!
Involuntarily, I associate it with the Ukrainian nuclear power plant in Zaporizhzhia,
controlled by Russian troops, which was cut off from the grid by shelling.

A striking image and a belated comment, William. A very powerful image, so I'll skip on HFF as it makes me think of so many unpleasant places in which people have been incarcerated around the world.
