You kept it… good, if you have a dark room you can use it… for fun!

I have a whole collection, Isabel, but I found them all on different fleamarkets, one I got as a gift from a friend. Nothing I inherited. And most of those cameras still work, I tested them :-) I don't have a darkroom, but there are places in Karlsruhe (and I'm sure you can find more on the Internet) that still develop and print medium format film. And yes, it sure was fun trying out those historic cameras...I'll have to do it again, as I just found one more b/w film roll.

I am too lazy but I should sometimes do it again, I still have tree analogic cameras, the only ones I saved from a nightmarish flood… lost all my old photos and negatives, the full collection of original editions of Tintin, etc…etc… better forget about it…

Eins aus meiner sammlung. Und die habe ich auch nicht geerbt, sondern von verschiedenen flohmärkten zusammengesammelt. Und die meisten alten kameras funktionieren noch, hab's schon ausprobiert.

Stimmt. Vor einigen jahren habe ich einige schöne teile auf flohmärkten gefunden. Und das sind gut erhaltene kameras, die tatsächlich auch noch funktionieren. Mittelformat film gibt's ja noch und auch noch labore, die sowas entwickeln inklusive prints...ist aber alles nicht so preiswert. Das preiswertese waren die kameras ;-)

My father had a camera like this in his collection Edna. I remember taking it to Spain with me in 1970. What a lovely design. Thanks for sharing, and for the memories my friend.

Oh, how fun. So you have some personal attachment to that type of camera. My father had different cameras (not this type) that he kept trading in for more recent models, so the camera I inherited was nothing spectacular anymore. Well, I found this one (and many more) on different fleamarkets. And those cameras still work and it's fun taking photos with them (for nostalgic reasons I prefer b/w film for them), but it's not all that cheap. The cameras were, but the medium format film, developing and prints aren't.

They take great black and white photos, but as you say, it is an expensive process now. My brother had my late father's cameras. I don't know if he still has them, but dad never sold any of them. He used to take wedding photos and I enjoyed watching him developing them.

I agree, Rosa. Most of the old cameras do, especially those that require medium format film as that type of film is quite forgiving of photographer's mistakes ;-)

It must have been fun to see your father take wedding photos and to watch the developing process later. In my family only one of my uncles attempted to develop photos, he did it for a while but then it became too time-consuming for him as he was quite a busy person.

Herrlich, genau so eine habe ich auch noch, in schönem braunen Lederetui, von meinem Schwiegervater geerbt. Und sie funktionniert noch immer tadellos, ist nur halt etwas umständlich mit den Filmen und dem Entwickeln derselben :)

Das ist ja toll! Ich habe meine kamerasammlung nicht geerbt, sondern auf verschiedenen flohmärkten erstanden. Und funktionieren tun die meisten, deine also auch noch, das war halt damals noch wertarbeit ;-)
Ausprobiert habe ich sie alle, hat spass gemacht, aber wie du sagst, es ist wesentlich umständlicher als digital und auch viel teurer (also nicht die kameras, sondern die rollfilme, das entwickeln und die prints). Aber hin und wieder, wenn ich viel zeit habe, dann mache ich gerne mal eine zeitreise zurück zur analogfotografie :-)

Im Vergleich zu meiner Voigtländer Bessa ist diese hier hypermodern. Die hat sogar einen integrierten Sucher unterm Blitzschuh.

Naja, in diesem fall bin ich dann sogar noch hypermoderner. Diese kamera ist so um 1950 herum erschienen ;-)

Ein edles Stück! Ich weiß nicht, ob ich damit umgehen könnte... Meine erste anständige Kamera war eine Pentax ME, die hatte schon Halbautomatik. Und die Filme habe ich halt immer weggegeben- und mich geärgert, wenn ich Abzüge mit Farbstich bekommen habe;-)

Also ich habe sämtliche alten kameras vom flohmarkt schon ausprobiert, so schwierig ist das gar nicht, mit ihnen umzugehen. Soviel technik war ja damals nicht. Allerdings habe ich die filme nicht selbst entwickelt, das wäre mir dann wiederum zuviel technik und aufwand, schon die dunkelkammer könnte ich daheim nicht bewerkstelligen.

Für die alten kameras verwende ich immer nur s/w filme, die sind fehlerunempfindlicher ;-))

Gute Idee mit sw, es sieht mit den alten Kameras auch besser aus- Vintage look:-)

Super - Nostalgie pur!

Stimmt. Sowas gefällt mir. Viele meiner alten kameras sind in einem schrank untergebracht, denn soviel platz habe ich nicht, sie alle auszustellen, aber für einige wenige (unter anderem diese hier) habe ich eine ausnahme gemacht :-)

ein schönes, altes Stück in gutem Zustand! ein paar Versuche in Schwarzweiß solltest du ruhig wagen, wenn du die nötige Zeit dafür findest!!

Habe ich doch schon! :-) Und so wie ich es sehe (und du anscheinend auch!) nur in s/w.

Hab ich doch schon...und ich hätte ja auf die idee kommen können, hier einige dieser fotos als PiPs einzufügen. Das nächste mal frage ich dich, wenn ich mal wieder keine idee habe! ;-)))

Und dank deines vorschlags könnte ich ja noch nachträglich...oder als separate(s) foto(s) mit link zur kamera. Obwohl die interessanteren fotos habe ich als doppelbelichtung mit der Agfa Clack gemacht (da hat's clack gemacht!!) ;-)) Schaun mer mal, was machbar ist.
