Hippos im Mara River

Zum Schutz vor Sonne und Krankheitserregern, sondern Nilpferde ein schweißähnliches Sekret ab. Es enthält orange und rote Farbpigmente. Daher erscheinen Nilpferde häufig in einem Rosaton.

Der Mara River ist bekannt für die große Tierwanderung zwischen Juli und September bei der weit über 1 Million Tiere den Fluss überqueren und Abertausende ihren Tod durch Raubtiere finden.

I'm really enjoying this wildlife series Stephan..............and this latest addition is very impressive.

I'm guessing the main image is a mother and baby..........it's great to see them in their natural environment. I love the image in the PiP with the Hippo covered in birds...........a proper symbiotic relationship!
