A very attractive looking lighthouse, which looks lovely in that gorgeous sunlight. It looks in remarkably good condition, especially as is seem very exposed to the elements.

I'm guessing that like most lighthouses, this one has been automated. A cracking shot Sir.

I also like the PiP...........that is an awesome view out to sea with great wave action and a nice sly/. I love all the greenery in the foreground with a lovely sprinkling of wild flowers.

I'm a bit curious of what could be attached to the top of the pedestal on the right of the lighthouse, it look like a globe or maybe a sundial?

Next to the lighthouse are the ruins of the lightkeeper’s residence as well as the original light source which was a two wick burner which had a range of 12 nautical miles in clear weather. In 1928 it was converted to automatic acetylene which didn’t require the keeper anymore, and in 1972 it was converted to mains electricity. In eary 2021 it was converted to a fixed high intensity LED beacon.

Here in the UK a lot of the old light house keepers cottages have been renovated and are now used as tourist accommodation.

Charming lighthouse! Belated HFF, Stephan!

Well done on going there, it's about 45 minutes from where we live... but in quite a remote and quiet location. Not much around there apart from Harrington. We visited it for the first time this year in September :-) Great capture!
