Maria Neff - Denkmal für ein Wangener Original

1969 war Maria Neff (Müllerstochter und – mit ihren vielen Katzen – letzte Bewohnerin der Eselmühle) bereit, die Eselmühle an die Stadt zu verkaufen. Allerdings unter der Bedingung, dass das Gebäude erhalten bleibt. Dank Maria Neff ist die Eselmühle nicht abgerissen worden, um einer Durchgangsstraße Platz zu machen. 1969 war auch der Ausgangspunkt für die nachfolgende Stadtsanierung.

From what we can see of it the mill looks quite beautiful. The statue is really lovely..........I especially like the detail you've captured and the patina of the metal. A superb image Stephan.

Having followed Ecobird's hint, I eventually spotted the mouse, but it took me a while!
