Now we enter the ancient wood. In what wild forms the gnarled and mossy boughs are twisted, what a sensation of sacred repose. Henry James Slack

Monet

This photo was taken in Beacon Hill Park, Victoria, BC. Each year the flowering trees and bushes that surround the pond can be captured as reflections along with the water lilies. Thank you Monet for opening our eyes to these beauties.

To be a Canadian is to appreciate our Group of Seven painters, who helped Canadians open our eyes to the incredible landscapes that define our national artistic identity.

Fred Herzog

I grew up and lived most of my life in Vancouver BC. Fred Herzog came from Germany to Vancouver and with his Leica captured the essence of Vancouver street life. He was a pioneer of colour slide film. Sadly, he died in 2019 but left a legacy of over 85,000 images. I took this photo while visiting a small town on Vancouver Island.

Josef Sudek

What can I say! Josef Sudek is probably my favourite photographer. When I see rain washed window images I get goosebumps. I took this photo while drinking coffee inside my favourite coffee shop and didn't even have to leave my chair!
