St. Xavier del Bac, Tucson Arizona
This is a remarkable church, and much photographed. If you are in or near Tucson, Arizona, be sure to visit.
This is a "characterful building" for the Sunday Challenge.

fyi - i'm flabergasted that i have never visited this mission! i lived in Tuscon for a couple years, but most of the time didn't have a car and apparently only went north from town. i was also quite young - probably not as interested in old buildings as i am now.
thank you for sharing this great place with us (i checked out your website - the image of the single cactus flower is one of my favorites. those bright spots of glory were my saving grace when i lived there.)
it would be a delight to have this in my group 'naturally occurring collages' - if you desire.
p.s. that wouldn't be Bullwinkle of Rocky and Bullwinkle fame as your icon on your photo page would it? *smile*
Lessee, we spent many winters in the Phoenix area, but visited Tucson several times. Not only this remarkable church, but the Saguaro National Park, are special places. For our museum and technology interests, there is the Pima Air Museum near the "boneyard".
As noted, many of the photos I've been taking off of Flickr are being placed on my website, with just a sampling here on Ipernity.
Yes the "fav icon" on our website is taken from the Bulwinkle cartoon. Will be happy to share it, if you have a personal website and want to add your own icon to it. We used to own t-shirts with "Moosylvania Farkling Squad" on the front, but they wore out, and the store closed. Might still be online somewhere....
raingirl club has replied to Robert Swanson clubYou're sweet to offer the icon, but I'm fine without it - I get to enjoy it on your website!
You might like to know (if you don't already) that if you hover over someone's comment see some options come up at the bottom. If the comment is in your language you will see "reply" and "permalink". If the comment is in another language, you will see "reply", 'translate", and "permalink". I never use 'permalink' - but if you click on 'reply' then two things will happen.
One, your reply will show up directly under the original comment and no one will have to guess who you're talking to.
Two, your reply will show up in the person's "your space" section. You can find yours on your Home page, the News tab - which is the default one - at the left side options right under 'in a Flash'..That is very useful as then they will know that you have replied to them.
Please excuse me if you already know this (or, if I've only confused you, please feel free to message me directly with questions).
I though to mention it because I just happened to look back at this photo and say your comments to me - I hadn't known that you had done that since it didn't show up in my 'your space' section.
And thanks for adding the photo to the group!
