Derwentwater - frozen - snowing

Derwentwater - frozen - snowing
WE heard on the local radio that Derwentwater was frozen a 20 mile drive
YES it was frozen solid > just a smooth sheet of white; but would it be firm enough to bear a person?

Then the first snow flakes began to float down; and getting heavier; so back to the car; we hadn't paid the parking fee, so we had no intention of a long stay.
So away home, with the white stuff already sticking to the road in places

We knew that the lake was frozen before we left home.
The snow was a surprize.
It began to stick; so we set out for the 20 mile trip home

I do like this one. At first glance I had thought perhaps that you had added the snow with your paints and inks as the photo is so like the previous one without snow but your explanation sorts that question. I know from experience too, just how quick the weather can change up there. Well done.

Cheers.
