Marseille, Cite Radieuse
(Unite d’Habitation, Le Corbusier, Marseille)
Marseille, Cite Radieuse is a representation of Le Corbusier's 'Radiant City' a housing block seen as a key inspiration for Brutalist architecture. Langlands and Bell's interest stems from the tension between the architect's vision for communal living and the dehumanising reality of many Brutalist developments: "long rows of identical units, which may seem more reminiscent of the mechanical order of the production line than indicative of a future Utopian city"

Coastguard Cottages across Lemon Fields
This terrace of cottages were originally for the coastguard personnel but now they are privately owned. They are perched near the cliff top along the west coast of the Isle of Wight at and overlook the sea. They are located at a place appropriately called Brook, where a stream exits into the sea. This shot was taken in Spring when the Rapeseed crop was fully ripe for harvesting.
