Kilnsey Crag

Kilnsey Crag
Kilnsey Crag This huge, overhanging limestone cliff is an important landmark in Wharfedale. It was shaped by glaciers that once filled the valley and plucked away the sheer rock face thousands of years ago.

Chris Bowness, Holger Hagen, Ecobird, Karl Hartwig Schütz and 12 other people have particularly liked this photo

A great shot Gordon. .I like the 'gap in the cloud' light,.. interestingly can clearly see the sedimentary lines in the rock,. // Dj.

Knowing the area quite well Gordon, I am intrigued by your location to take the excellent shot.
The lighting is great really showing off the overhang.

That is a very impressive lump of rock TOZ.........it really dominates the surrounding landscape.

I love the detail and textures you've captured in the cliff face. The building gives us a great idea of scale. Lovely light too.

Beautifully composed and taken!

I remember climbing that in the 60s, Gordon. Scared me s***less, especially the overhang. This is a cracking photograph which brings back many memories of a mis-spent (but very enjoyable) youth.
