Fred Fouarge club has replied to Peter Castell clubit's pretty ferocious looking, but harmless to humans. I get them in my garden occasionally, but the last time I saw one was a female a couple of years back: www.ipernity.com/doc/keithburton/50815196.
I suspect the rain has affected them badly this year!
