The image has subsequently been alienated, based on the real development of our global community. Perhaps it is this very similarity that accounts for its supposed perfection.

Gerne wüde ich sehen welch einen Anteil KI an der Bildgestaltung hat.
* ઇઉ * club has replied to Rainer BlankermannI wish I had had a camera with me when I saw this scene years ago, albeit without the empathetic, friendly man.
Many digital cameras are already starting to use AI for image creation without everyone seeming to be aware of it.
In this case, the amount of AI in the image creation roughly corresponds to my specifications. Note: Like us humans, AI often has a mind of its own. ;)
However, I didn't limit the image creation here to AI, but also used image processing programs that are comparatively simple. However, if one considers that almost everything that has to do with digital photography and electronic image processing is basically nothing else but AI, where and how do you want to start in order to find out and quantify or visualize the contribution of AI to image creation?
Bon weekend. Amitiés

* ઇઉ * club has replied to Nouchetdu38 clubI see that you are familiar with AI, I don't know how it works.... but can we still talk about photography or are we beyond it? I would like to create a debate on this topic.
Warm greetings

* ઇઉ * club has replied to photosofghosts clubI doubt that you are unfamiliar with AI, Fabio. ;) You have at least two digital cameras with extensive functions that store image files on memory cards, as is common with this technology. These can be visualized with the electronic image processing of your computer and uploaded to platforms like ipernity. All of this is nothing more than AI.
If you would like to start a debate or participate in discussions about AI-generated images or AI-edited photos, I would recommend joining the group AI Generated Images that Bernhard has created for this purpose.
Thank you, and warm greetings to you, too.
photosofghosts club has replied to * ઇઉ * clubI'm not an expert on the subject, but photography, whether analogue or digital, requires human creative input, both at the moment of shooting and at the moment of editing. On the computer I have seen works with pure fantasy IA, such as the Pope with the down jacket....
I repeat, I am not an expert and I wish you all the best for a Happy New Year!
Fabio
* ઇઉ * club has replied to photosofghosts clubWhether using an analog or digital camera or an AI generator, human creative input is always necessary. Without it, achieving meaningful and acceptable results is impossible. The difference lies in the fact that each technology requires different areas of our brain. Thereby, using AI is not less demanding than using a camera.
Best wishes for a Happy New Year to you and your loved ones.
Eric Desjours club has replied to * ઇઉ * clubQ: If Michelangelo had used the computer to compose the Sistine Chapel, would he be as honored today?
To pick up on your exchange with Fabio and discussions I've had elsewhere: I think there's an unfathomable difference between the source and the product.
The source can be very diverse, also a product of both computer and AI or from elsewhere. It's only the result that we can judge. And that we honor as an artistic production, i.e. as the final, sensitive and estimable human contribution/creativity.
I know I use many technologies to achieve my publication on ipernity. The fact remains that my final (when not initial) work is the fruit of my labor, of my hands & of my creativity, even if they meanwhile manipulate the settings & click on the camera, the mouse and keyboard to command the tools provided by Gimp, then the download button provided by ipernity. What's just crafting in relation to my "artistic" sense.
In these compositions that you and several members are proposing, it's impossible to distinguish the individual creative part from that of the computer. I find that they all look rather the same from an artistic point of view (which makes me think that AI tends to level out not only creativity but also the social space where it is increasingly introduced), and this bothers me because, although I'm not a photographer, the subject isn't enough for me to differentiate and appreciate works of this type. So I remain skeptical, or rather circumspect.
I contributed to the "AI Generated Images" group, tab "Artificial intelligence and the future of photography", without response. This doesn't seem to be mobilizing members's consciences. Or the group's promotion is not enough. Or maybe... the "old-time" photographers just don't care?! :)
I think you're one of the most relevant contributors & interlocutor on the subject, hence this comment. But I'm willing to continue the debate in a more public forum.
Within contemporary music, my specialty, the contribution of computers dates back to the 50s. I've learned to distinguish between the computer tools and the composer. In this new discipline of IA-assisted photography (which also affects music), I'm unable. Perhaps it's an apprenticeship I'm lacking. But in the absence of demonstrations and explanations, among others in your work, I'm unable to give an opinion - just like Fabio ;)
* ઇઉ * club has replied to Eric Desjours clubIf it is impossible for you to distinguish the individual creative part from that of the computer, I would like to invite you to try it yourself, to put an image from your memory or from your imagination into words and visualize it using an AI image generator, if you haven't done so yet. But be careful, please. ;) Immediate, 100% success is rather rare. The best possible results require appropriate input from the user — and their patience.
In my opinion, a “leveling out” of creativity is due to the immaturity of the AI Image Generators. However, they are constantly being improved.
I can empathize with the fact that the “levelling” by AI in the social space bothers you, but I hope that each individual will think about it for themselves and make responsible decisions based on both their own and the common good.
Several ipernity members have a clear aversion to AI-generated images and show it in different ways, although ipernity has been a platform not only for photographers, but also for artists and creative image creators (digital art, etc.) since its foundation.
(Artists and creative image creators seem to have been systematically marginalized and scared away for some years now - a development that gives cause for concern.)
In my opinion, this proves that the conscience of the members does not have to be mobilized first, even if some of their approaches to the topic are rather questionable and memorable.
I do not think that I am one of the most relevant contributors, and interlocutors on this topic, but I am happy to participate in an objective exchange of views, as far as my commitments within and outside ipernity allow. However, it would be beneficial for everyone if such discussions were actually held in a public forum - here: AI Generated Images - which, in addition to the possibility of posting such images, has also been set up specifically for this purpose.
I am a little surprised that you are talking about a new AI-supported photography, as this did not just start with the very latest achievements of digital cameras/digital photography. ;)
As for the last paragraph of your comment, I would like to come back to the second paragraph of my reply and encourage you once again to try it yourself, as the proof of the pudding is in the eating. ;)
However, please note the difference between images created with an AI image generator and photos taken with a digital camera. :)
* ઇઉ * club has addedI create sometimes random music. After listening to it for 5 minutes, I move on to something else and forget about it. For me, 100% AI compositions fall into this category.”, I would like to add:
In image processing or image generation, AI enables the expression of an artist's or person's soul. This includes both AI-edited photos and 100% AI-generated images based on the user's own text or photo.
You can see this not only in the posts in the AI Generated Images group.
I would like to invite you once again to try it for yourself and ask you to delve deep into yourself when entering text for 100% AI creations to convince yourself that AI, although still immature, allows the individual expression of the soul of the person and the artist.
* ઇઉ * club has addedThere has certainly been no shortage of advertising for the group in question, whose description, as I said, states that it was also set up to discuss AI. There may be many reasons why you have not yet received a readable response to your comment there. One of them is widespread human laziness - and the cause of this is certainly not AI.
The Königsberg philosopher I. Kant said in 1784 not for nothing - loosely translated from a Latin proverb - "Sapere aude! Have courage to use your own reason!"
