In de vruchtlichamen zitten rode bolletjes, dit zijn de zaden van de witte Magnolia.
De zaden worden veel opgegeten door spreeuwen die hier met tientallen op de boom vallen.

Oh, zulke bloemen heb ik nog nooit gezien, Frans. Je zegt dat het magnolia is, maar zo'n magnolia is hier niet. Ze zijn prachtig.

De witte stervormige magnolia bloeit ook in de UK in het voorjaar.
In September verschijnen deze vruchten, maar je moet er snel bij zijn, want de speeuwen eten ze snel op[.
