Slow Way route (2), from Wightwick to Wombourne
Slow Ways is an initaiative to create a national network of walking routes connecting all of Great Britain’s towns and cities as well as thousands of villages.
An alternative to the Slow Way route (1) from Wightwick to Wombourne would be to join the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal at Wightwick Bridge and to follow the towpath southward. The canal runs more or less parallel to the first route that utilises the South Staffs Railway Walk, and has points where you could cross to the Railway Walk.
Having walked the off-road sections of the route over the years I don’t think much has changed, so I have gathered some pictures together. They order from the Wightwick end towards Wombourne, but not always looking in that direction of travel.
