The old Queens head.. Sheffield.

Now totally dominated by a near complete modern structure...''The Old Queen's Head'' is a public house on Pond Hill in the City of Sheffield.. that occupies the oldest domestic building in the city. This timber framed building is thought to date from c.1475, although the earliest known written record of it is in an inventory compiled in 1582 of the estate of George Talbot, the 6th Earl of Shrewsbury.

Thanks Nick'... it does look lonely yes but it is surrounded by the cities busy bus and rail station and many other city centre buildings.. btw.. the background build is all now complete.. Cheers from Dj.

That's true Nicolas... one of the oldest buildings in my home town of Sheffield UK.
the city of steels iron and much heavy industry .. but not so much today.

Thank you marie-claire.. yes lots of history in UK. city of York is very well known and 'Colchester' the oldest Roman town in UK.
