CinqueTerre 1xPiP

CinqueTerre 1xPiP
La via dell'Amore or the path of love is a pedestrian path overlooking the sea, a little over a kilometre long, connecting the villages of Riomaggiore and Manarola. It is one of the sections of the Sentiero Azzurro, the most popular hiking trail in the Cinque Terre National Park.
The name of the path comes from the fact that it provided a simple and protected meeting place for young lovers living in the two small towns in the mountainous landscape.
The path is one of the most important tourist attractions in the region and an essential part of the Cinque Terre National Park, which is a World Heritage Site.

Buelipix, Holger Hagen, Cämmerer zu Nau, Berny and 63 other people have particularly liked this photo

Very nicely taken, Aschi. Both really convey the unusual nature of this terrain and what it's like to live in a place like this.

What a clever way to connect the two villages............the path looks lovely. I hate heights but I think even I could manage this one!

A lovely photo and an interesting narrative!

The view in the PiP is superb. I like all the houses perched up on the cliff.
