Suburban Geometry

Suburban Geometry
I flew down to Albuquerque to rescue my son from New Mexico and took this as my plane turned on the final approach to land at the Sunport as they call the airport there. It was January and everything is dormant, but even in the spring or summer the predominant color is, you guessed it, brown. View is to the northeast.

Submitted to the February, 2017 Contest Without Prize, theme "Beautiful Roofs in the World" as entry #58 with the title "Suburban Geometry; Albuquerque, NM".

Danke, Erich.
Much as I hate to admit it I cannot say that a whole lot of planning went into this area. It is fairly typical suburban sprawl (which was an alternate title I considered) with the idea being to plat as many units as possible in the grid. On the other hand there probably was not much in the way of natural beauty in this landscape for the developer to work with or preserve as it tends to be a near desert, arid plain as you can see if you go to the location and either take the viewer up or pan a little further the west.
