SF6 is not toxic, just a "simple asphyxiant". The warning exists because a leak of SF6 could accumulate in an unventilated lower part of the structure and displace air.

Of course you are right about accumulation of SF6 in a 'confined space' hence the grilles in the door. More importantly, is is very damaging to the environment if released, and in the event of an electrical arc it can react to form very poisonous disulphur decafluoride.
