Hi Peter,

An interesting shot. Not something we see in our libraries over here!
We are lucky to still have a library, although closed at the moment.

Take care & best wishes,
Rosa.

Hi Rosa,
Thank you so much for your very kind visit.
I am pleased you found it interesting.
I must say I have never seen a bookstand like that before, but the palace was full of very wise men, with great learning in their books.. The size of your headgear was an indication of your importance around the palace...!
Best Wishes,
Peter

A most unusual capture Peter. He almost looks like a dressed up 'wax-dummy' here but I am sure he was alive enough. A fine reading stand too. Well done.

Keep safe. Herb

I'm happy that you had a good look!!
Of course you are right, a model from the Ottoman civilisation. Libraries are so different everywhere these days, but how long do we need them for, I wonder. As you know, scanned copies of many old books on philosophy, mathematics, etc, can be downloaded from the internet.
What will the future bring!
