Memorial to Steve Hislop
Robert Steven 'Hizzy' Hislop (11 January 1962 – 30 July 2003) was a Scottish motorcycle racer. Hislop won at the Isle of Man TT eleven times, won the British 250cc Championship (1990) and British Superbike championship (1995 and 2002).

Hislop died when piloting his small, Robinson R44 helicopter in July 2003. He was inducted into the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame in March 2010.

Hi Anna,

Thank you for your visit, and giving me the idea of a title! At least he will be able to look out over the harbour of the island which gave him his fame!

Thank you Steve, your visit and awards are as welcome as ever. In reality, this was a very lucky find. It is located in a small park overlooking Douglas, and is around 'life size'. As the eleven TT wins suggests, he was a great competitor, and great champion. A sad loss to the world.
