I'm puzzled though; you mention holiday. What holiday is that?- do you mean Thanksgiving? Or is Halloween a holiday in the USA? Please forgive my ignorance! (But then I'm someone who lived in Spain for 6 years before he realised that Cristobal Colón was in fact Christopher Columbus!!)

Hello Andy, Ive cleared the confusion. Ive gone and edited my reply to Steve Drury. this was our "vacation" ! so holiday probably seems confusing. sorry. But I was speaking to my friend Steve in the UK, and he refers to time away as a holiday, so since replying to him, I worded our vacation as a holiday. problem solved :))) we certainly celebrate Halloween here, but it is not known as a federal holiday of course. But it is a big thing here, young children/kids enjoy Halloween with the "Trick or Treat" thing on Halloween night...:) thanks Andy. HANWE Sarah

The word we have for a container for our money is a purse; but I think a purse in the USA is a handbag. And of course a car boot is a trunk. ;-)

Hey Rosa, Yep a word can take on different meanings. but Rosa, we have jelly AND Jam!! AND also, we have crisp and chips...We have the best of both worlds:))))) thanks for your visit here and comment.... Sarah

Hey Amelia, it is interesting to see different words used for the same thing. Amelia, I have a purse and handbag but its the same item. :)) its up to the person whose talking which word is preferred. mostly now I think we use purse more....what I keep my money is a wallet! But often when I may go shopping I might say to my husband that I need a new "handbag" :)) I use both words, :) Ive never heard of our trunk of the car being called a car boot???? that item is always "trunk" here. what fun discussing these differences, Amelia! :) great to see you....

I visited Gatlinburg many years ago, in fact so many that I don't remember much about it, so it is nice to see pictures like this.
And the Smokey Mountains were great too!
