Sadly, these wall murals were whitewashed over last year. Photo taken in May 2013, not in 2012 as per the exif!

This is pleasing artwork to me and makes worthwhile use of material which would otherwise have been discarded.

Plaza Chueca, Madrid. Christmas lights in the rain. First shown in 2016 on ipernity from a shot taken in 2013. I can't upload my new 2020 Christmas shot so a blast from the past will have to suffice!

Without my notes to this shot, stolen unexpectedly by Google, I'm afraid I no longer have the details of the artist and related info. Very sorry and not a little bit annoyed!
UPDATE on 11/04/18: Thanks to ipernity member, Jim Kerslake, I can now name the artist and the piece:

All 388 residents were photographed in 1967. Some years later, permission was granted to paint portraits from the photo album and adorn the houses where they lived!

Another new one and she's next to Murphy. I do hope they have been formally introduced! I wonder if Maria will be jealous!

A famous artist but I have lost the details. Someone helped me out before with another of his works of art. I will try and find the notes and edit this description when I do.
OK, done.
The artist is Sam 3. Thanks again Jim Kerslake.

I've taught at all the tall buildings you see but not yet at Nuevos Ministerios, itself! Only a matter of time - I have taught at government departments but at other locations in Madrid.

Felipe V, first king of the Borbón dynasty obviously didn't feel secure so he commissioned this massive barracks to be built not far from his Madrid palace. It was constructed between 1717 and 1736, The quarters, with it's grandiose portal shown here, were designed by renowned architect Pedro de Rivera.
Now a cultural and leisure centre.

This is the side of the building. Hidden down a narrow and nondescript lane is this mural. Difficult to get a good shot due to the tightness of the angle in the narrow sidestreet and the fact that the sun hardly gets round here.
ADDED NOTE a week later: I got a shot of it in the sun. I'll post it soon. Second thoughts - on viewing the sunny one, this here is MUCH better and more clearly defined! This stays alone!
