I had a classical music upbringing but rebelled against it (I went over to popular culture and its music in adolescence). But around the age of 30, I rediscovered Mozart, et al and then for a long time I only listened to classical. Now I hope I've struck a reasonable balance!

Well, I couldn't live without Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Marvin Gaye and Mozart (All dead, sadly!)!

A lovely capture of these old mine buildings Andy.............when viewed large, the details in the architecture are much easier to see and they look really good. A lovely sky too.

I like a bit of classic stuff myself Andy,.. so I ran the Mozart clip while continuing to comment...
As with any stringed instrument without frets,. how do they know just where to place their fingers on the 'neck' in order to strike the correct note ? .... pure skill and practice I guess.

I was the pianist in the family and my brother was the violinist. I've often wondered that same exact point you raise, Dave. My brother has never understood why we should be puzzled by it so I suggest it is as you say!

Stunning picture of this tin mine - I just love the stonework. Are there a lot of these mines near you Andy? Mind you - Cornwall is famous for the tin mines.

Fascination and mystery for abandoned factories. Not long ago I was listening to The Magic Flute. Right now Ella Fitzgerald is playing in my living room.

These aren't factories, they're pumping engine houses, needed to keep water out of the shafts and adits deep below ground of these tin and copper mines
