What a mad display of gorgeous color! I was about to say...HEYYYY!!! That's not fair to have so many crazy flowers this early...then I read the date stamp...AUGUST...heh...ok that makes better sense! And STILL, it certainly might have been true, some folks have incredible gardens nearly from the get-go!

Thank you, Janet. In fact if we split the difference and say May, that is the best time to visit my mum's garden but the last time I saw it then was well over 10 years ago!
The garden has generally started to 'go over' by August although she still does very well!

It must be lovely to meander along this curving pathway through your Mum's garden, Andy. A wonderful display of colour.

it is, Amelia! When my parents first moved there, 21 years ago, my Mum, my sister's Spanish husband and I decided that the boring straight path down one side of the garden had to go. So we put in the curved path and laid the basis for the flower beds either side together with the wooden structure for climbers but we didn't want the formality of a pergola. We are quite pleased with the result!

Thank you, Carol! I must ask my mum to take some photos of the garden in May when it is spectacular. Ten years ago I lived there and of course saw the garden at its best but I didn't have a camera then!
