I have recovered from the main illness that laid me low for 2016 but I have the legacy of many minor issues to do with my feet and toes and it is these little, but longlasting, problems that have, frustratingly, stopped me getting out there!

The more of these you post, the more amazed I am by the way nature has carefully placed these huge rocks in very photogenic poses! How very convenient ;-))

When I started to walk regularly here and to explore this Sierra in depth, in 2010 and without a camera (!), I was astonished at what I found! I quickly fell in love with the place!

Yes! It's a granite boulder! And, it's a fabulous shot, Andy, even though I can't really see Madrid.

Just to the left of the rocks, on the horizon is a little dark smudge. These are the Cuatro Torres, the four tallest buildings in Spain, built between about 2004 and 7. Before they were built it would have been hard to spot Madrid from here except in the clearest of light. More often a pollution haze would be the give-away! But I wasn't in Spain then so I am guessing!
