Granite. Torre de Valdemanco, Sierra de La Cabrera
Amazingly, my first walk in the Sierra de La Cabrera since December 2015!
And it hasn't changed a bit!

Bon Dimanche.
Andy Rodker club has replied to Ronald Losure clubgreat perspective and amazing rocks.
Andy Rodker club has replied to raingirl clubMany safe paths and, if you feel a little bit more adventurous, some exciting scrambles, but nothing too exposed or difficult!. I like the choice and it depends on my mood and energy levels on the day! But, actually this is just the lower western end of a long ridge. I went on to the highest peak on the ridge before returning. A pleasant walk in 22 c, 70 f and a gentle breeze; perfect walking weather!
- but thank you for your concern for my well-being, Laura. :o)

Andy Rodker club has replied to Diane Putnam clubBut I got to musing ...
We say 'shit' a lot, without thinking (OK, The Times still prints s..t).. But this was anathema to my parents' generation. I learn't this when I was helping my Dad put up some shelving in his wine shop and I hit my thumb with a hammer. ... 'SSSSSHHEEEEEIIIIIIIITT' rang out. (I actually wanted to shout out 'F...........CK!', But because my Dad was nearby, I was just about able to restrain myself).
My Dad's immediate response wasn't 'Are you alright?' but 'ANDREW!!!!! I NEVER want to hear you use such OBSCENE language in my presence EVER AGAIN!!!'
It's just one example of the interesting and wonderful thing about the ever-changing facets of our language.
Still ... c..p is ... well, still c..p!

Fascinating picture, and great respect to you for climbing up there. Looks like a great day out!!

Andy Rodker club has replied to Peter_Private_Box clubYes it was. And the routes are really no more than walks in many cases! I'd put it on a par with Tryfan! It is the craggy granite scenery that a) makes these look like mighty mountains and b) hides the easy paths from view. Of course you can make it complicated to get up there if you want!!
Best wishes,
Andy
