Semiahmoo
I am back. For various reasons I took a lengthy break from ipernity but have decided at lest for the present to continue. One reason for stopping was the loss of my camera which was dropped last summer into the San Antonio River and was a write-off. I now have a new camera though this was taken with my phone before I got it. Have also had some health issues to deal with and have been very busy with other matters.
The photo was taken on an excursion with our youngest son and his family the end of January, not long before they moved to Brisbane, Australia. This is part of the old salmon cannery at Semiahmoo, Washington, near Blaine and the Canadian border. In fact, the land in the background is Whiterock, British Columbia. Many of the old cannery buildings are still there but the area is now mainly a park and resort.
Semiahmoo is long spit of land between Drayton Harbor part of the town of Blaine and Semiahmoo Bay and Whiterock, B.C. There is large hotel there but also walking paths and beautiful views back over Drayton Bay of Mount Baker. We spent an evening there with our family members walking some of the paths, watching the sunset and enjoying the lunch we had brought along. We will miss them in the area.
