Blood Geyser
Named for the red algae around the geyser, Blood Geyser is one of the hydrothermal features in the Artist's Paint Pots area of Yellowstone National Park. It is along the walk through the area at the base of Paint Pot Hill. The walk is about a mile and takes you across the geyser basin and up and along the side of Paint Pot Hill to the mud pots which are the main feature of the area. Though small the area is interesting and beautiful and a "must stop" on the way through Yellowstone. The insets show several other views of the geyser as well as of the basin filled with steam and of a hot spring not far from Blood Geyser.

It's hard to pick a favorite but maybe the main one? Hard to say, they're all really nice and it's a bit of apples vs oranges! :)
Thanks for your latest visits! Loved what you had to say about the variety of my pictures giving a really nice representation of the area...that's so nice, and actually exactly what I hope to accomplish with my multiple series. Plus I'm just a photo junkie and it's really hard not to share what I found! :D Heh, of COURSE you loved the madrone bark! I saw that bark and said, "RON IS GOING TO LOVE THIS!" Heh...but we are twins here, how can we resist that marvelous curly bark?! :D
Wow, a month in Europe, won't you have a grand time!! And to have a local guide too, what luck! You guys are going to have a BLAST! Something to look forward to for sure...except the international flight, omg kill me now! LOL, but I'm happy you know what you're up for so it won't be a surprise. WARNING: UK was the WORST experience with extremely RUDE personnel who thought it was appropriate to use the speakers to individually point out problem items from passengers...it was UN BE LIEVABLE...the jerk that pulled Steve out of the line to rifle through his bags took a full, almost new tube of (proper size and weight) toothpaste and confiscated it because she was having a bad day and wanted to share. I was really worried that Steve was going to blow his top...and then we'd REALLY have a problem...not a fun experience!
That must have been a hard decision to drive home so late with the worries of deer vs snow...you chose right but it had to be awfully stressful. :(
Hopefully the weather's cleared up so you can go on a hike! It's been freezing in the mornings here but otherwise lovely for the most part.
Fun to read about the swap-over from old van to new. It's great that you can just move everything over, and how cool that it's just a fresh-version of the last one! FANTASTIC!
Yes, Steve continues to make wonderful upgrades with each passing day...my new bed frame is in place now with my custom-ordered mattress on top (and it only cost about $225!!), he built in new shelves in my bedroom cabinets, and he'll be working on the electronics area next...it will be for our chargers and such. I'll have to do a write up about that, it will be very cool! :)
Ok, I'm out! Have a wonderful day! :)
