Wonderful moment very well shown, Ron!
Wow...what a story you've relayed about your impromptu travels and the horrid flight via the ever-dreaded United--they are absolutely the WORST and we loathe them with a passion. What uncaring, rude jerks they are. Overpriced and awful. Had to fly to SF when my dad was dying and my flight ended up being six hours delayed. Mind you, it's a stupid 1.5 hours but when you fly United, plan on 2x the time stated...OR MORE! Anyway, I feel your pain. Sorry you had that ordeal. Just be happy, Ron, that you weren't flying internationally. THAT has become truly untenable. The time in lines is just out of this world. Agents give you a feeling of being a axe-murdering pedophile. Add bickering, short tempers and being intolerant (of screaming children/babies) and it's something never to attempt again unless said couple is going to be reasonable and good to one another! (pointing fingers at each of us)
Can't even imagine flying in a snowstorm. Nope. Nope. Nope. I am a nervous flier though I can deal well enough these days. Driving there...*shakes head*...you poor thing...what a horrible experience from start to finish. Except that everything turned out well because you're home safe!
Your curry sounded so delicious!! (except...picks out the snow peas--especially the pods--and flings them unceremoniously through the window) (oops, was that rude?! :D) And we agree with you about home-cooked meals being the best...when we got back from LA we were just so happy to have proper meals again!
I hope the trip with Neal is a wonderful one for him and you guys too, and not too much trouble for anyone involved so that all are happy! :) Giving him a rich life may not be easy but it's wonderful that you try so hard to give him the best life possible! Crossing my fingers for clear skies!
So happy you enjoyed the Shasta pictures. We sure did get lucky with the amazing views on the way down. Believe it or not, those pictures were all taken through bug-spattered windshields! I cropped out the highway and in the end you can't even tell, HAH!! :D Gotta love that. :) And yes, it's a really pretty area, so do put it on your list of places to go. Steve and I hope to spend some weeks in the area exploring the gold mine towns, etc.
Glad that you like our new trailer...it really is nice to be able to detach from it to drive where we want. Motor coaches are such behemoths and like you say...what is the logic of having an all-in-one? What if you want to drive into town for groceries or to a hiking trail? Hauling an extra vehicle is the only thing that makes sense for that arrangement and what a BOTHER! BTW, I love the name these towed vehicles are called: TOADS! :D
I hope you got some nice sleep, and I do expect it will be another couple before you're back to yourself again. Air travel and crazy drives in storms will wreck a person for days!
BTW, one of your posts had me thinking about a podcast I listened to that investigated venus flytrap poaching. It really opened my eyes, and was completely fascinating. Here's the link again. I don't know if you listen to podcasts regularly but if you have a podcast player like our favorite, "Pocket Casts", you can subscribe to various podcasts such as Criminal, which made the following episode, and then you can listen to the episode on your smart phone or whereever you like to listen to them. (If you want to know more: www.podcastinsights.com/best-podcast-apps ) Anyway, here is the episode! thisiscriminal.com/episode-five-dropping-like-flies-4-24-2014
Freundliche Grüße und einen guten Tag
