Lewisiopsis tweedyi
Lewisiopsis tweedyi, formerly Lewisia tweedyi, is one of Washington's most beautiful and rarest wildflowers. It grows in rocky areas in a small area around Leavenworth on the east side of the Cascades. It has flowers in soft pinks and yellows that are up to three inches across and each plant is covered with flowers during its blooming season. I had to go a long way up Derby Canyon this past spring to find it and nearly fell down the steep rocky slope on which they were growing when trying to take photos.
On another note, my presence on Ipernity will be sporadic over the next few weeks since we will be traveling cross-country to Michigan to visit family, a journey of some 2000 miles. We'll be stopping at some of the national parks along the way and visiting friends as well and will not actually be in Michigan until the end of this week or the beginning of next week. I'll get on as opportunity presents itself, but opportunity will be especially rare in the national parks and we'll be busy with other things in any case.

The extrovert and the reserved!
Wonderfully captured!
I wish you and your family a pleasant and agreable journey, Ron!
Have a great trip Ron, stay safe, and take care.
I hope that you and Nancy have a marvelous time on your travels to, from, and during your Michigan visit. I'll be thinking about you and sure do know the sketchiness of internet in rural areas! Hopefully it doesn't make you too crazy if you are seeking information!
Thanks for your wonderful comments on my house boat and water taxi presentation! I'm glad you enjoyed the house boats...they really are very unique. It was also fun to learn that these adorable boats are also in Vancouver!
It was great to hear that the kids have been catching fish--and I totally understand not wanting to eat fish, as a kid there was no way unless it was tuna drowned in mayo! :D
Steve is fishing as I speak! He's at a small lake we discovered that's not too far away. The latest reports feature a nibble on the second cast but no fish on the line yet. Oh, I hope he catches one! We should be getting various additions to our Porta-Bote in the next few days, that will be lots of fun and hopefully give us a better chance at FISHIES FOR DINNER! :D
We picked up a steelhead from Costco a few days ago...Steve pan-fried it with butter and herbs, and fried the skin until it was crispy. *falls over and drools* It was SOOOOOO GOOOD!!!! We had some left over after our second evening of decadence and last night we took the last and had fishie tostadas!! I think I've told you how we take shredded cheese, sprinkle into a circle shape on a piece of parchment paper...wave for a minute...put the other one in, take turns until they've been waved twice...this turns the cheese into a lovely browned shell. Pull off the paper, place on a napkin for holding...slather with sour cream, topped with a generous serving of FISHIE!, then onions, sliced cherry tomatoes, some salsa and chopped spinach leaves...*floats away in deliciousness*...soooooo goood!!!
And no. I won't share. Get your own! :D :D :D
Heh, but we'd love to make these for you guys sometime, what a treat! :)
Safe travels you guys! :)
