Warm Springs Camp

Warm Springs Camp
Warm Springs Camp is fifteen miles off the main road in the southwestern part of Death Valley. Now derelict it was a luxury mining camp established to house the miners at nearby talc and gold mines. As the insets show, it even had a swimming pool fed by the warm springs above the camp. We spent a good part of the fifth day and the night there sleeping in our van which is just visible behind the bushes in front of the camp buildings. We did not sleep in the buildings which were filthy, nor did we use the swimming pool which had very little water in it and that filthy, but we did use the warm springs to bathe and wash some clothes. More information on the camp is available here, a very interesting story: deathvalleyjim.com/warm-springs-camp-death-valley-national-park.
