Platanthera orbiculata

Platanthera orbiculata
This was one of the few orchids still blooming along the Berg Lake trail last August. This is the Pad-leaved Orchis. It grows in woodlands, exactly where we found it, has two round and flat leaves that hugs the ground and a flower spike that is several feet tall, a rather impressive plant. These were starting to fade, but were still good enough to photograph.
