BNSF rail yard, Klamath Falls, Oregon, USA.
After tragic events in the news yesterday, I went out for a drive to clear my head. I found myself at the Burlington Northern railroad yard, where I couldn't wander around, but took some shots from the road.
From the old timber train, Oregon, California & Eastern line. Now a small museum. The track was converted to a biking/hiking trail in 1992 after the decline of the timber industry. The building in the background was in the process of being demolished. It was an old molding and box manufacturing company that closed down many years ago.
"Welcome to the OC&E Woods Line State Trail -- Oregon's longest linear park! This 109-mile, rail-to-trail conversion is built on the old rail bed of the Oregon, California, and Eastern Railroad. The trail is open for all non-motorized recreation, beginning in the heart of Klamath Falls, extending east to Bly and north to the lush Sycan Marsh. From its beginnings as a railroad carrying millions of board feet of timber and railcars loaded with cattle, to its present cargo of recreational trail users, this railroad line has always been on the move."

For being out in the middle of nowhere, Klamath Falls has a lot of train traffic, mostly freight. Also twice per day passenger through the Amtrak station.
Going south (<left) to California.
See PiP for another shot of that big rusty thing - a sawdust burner. Also see this link for the album for the old Modoc Lumber Co. and info about old sawdust burners: https://www.ipernity.com/doc/1227338/album/766844
